Fake cobblestone walkway

posted in: DIY | 0

Or how to paint fake stones on your garden walkway. A large scale Diy, that demands large quantities of patience, some paint and not much more. The outcome will exceed your expectations and reward that pain in your back.

Materials and tools

  • 5l white exterior acrylic latex paint
  • 1l “ brick bold” exterior acrylic latex paint
  • 1l “Renwick Olive” exterior acrylic latex paint
  • 1l “Ruskin Room Green” exterior acrylic latex paint
  • 1l “Pavestone grey” exterior acrylic latex paint
  • 1l “Jogging Path” exterior acrylic latex paint
  • A medium size brush
  • A painting roll and a roller tray
  • 4-5 large cobble stone pieces
  • Chalk or painting coal

Instructions

Clean your painting surface and remove any prior paint residues. Use your painting roll to apply two layers of white, exterior acrylic, latex, paint allowing each layer to dry according to the instructions on the paint container.

Step A
Trace the cobblestone pieces using chalk or coal and arrange them on your walkway. Use your brush and your color palette to fill the stone shapes, trying to create smooth outlines.

Step 2
Keep in mind that darker shades should be used in a smaller ratio than the lighter ones.
